Assistive Technology Itinerant Service

Districts can request the services of an Assistive Technology Resource Person for one or more days per week or per month for a school year. This model was developed for districts without an Assistive Technology coordinator, specialist, or resource person available. This service is also now available on a hourly billable basis. ($XX/hr)

Description:

The T.R.E. Center can provide the following services to teachers, support staff, administrators, and families:

• Assist in assessing the district's need for assistive technology staff development, devices, services, and resources
• Consult with teachers, therapists, CSE's and administrators regarding purchase of assistive technology products as part of the IEP process;
• Provide telephone and on-site technical assistance;
• Serve as a resource person to review recommendations for making assistive technology available to students
• Consult with teachers, therapists, CSE's and administrators regarding transition of assistive technology as students change classes or programs;
• Provide or coordinate the provision of, awareness and in-depth training to CSE/CPSE members, professional staff, paraprofessional staff and families who will provide assistive technology services; and/or
• Assist in the development of an in-district Building Delegate Program.

This list is not conclusive. This service can be designed to meet the assistive technology needs of each school district.
