The T.R.E. Center is the NYS Education Department's Designated Assistive Technology & UDL Resource
and
Training Center for Parents, Educators, Therapists, Agencies and Anyone with Disabilities.

T.R.E. is sponsored by VESID, and is part of The Capital Region BOCES, a non-profit organization.

Our Mission is to provide information, training and other resources to enhance learning opportunities for individuals with or without disabilities through technology.  We work with customers, suppliers and professional development networks to build schools’ capacity to provide all students with access to curriculum.

 

Universal Design for Learning (UDL) and Assistive Technology

 

☺ Disseminate UDL information to all educators and help them obtain UDL resources

Lead New York State’s UDL initiative

☺ Provide UDL technical assistance to NY professional development networks and schools

☺ Support and implement NYS Assistive Technology Guidelines and Alternative Media law      (Chapter 377 – see http://trecenter.org/publications.htm )

 

Assistive Technology Itinerant Service: “Rent A Tech” Districts may purchase time of TRE specialists who then provide a variety of services, including Individual Student Consultations, Professional Development, Classroom Consultations, and Assistive Device Loans.
